Learn about big wave rider and musician Makua Rothman in this short film about how he grew up and life as a local on the North Shore.  Although he is associated with the tough and protective surf gang Da Hui, he understands that showing Aloha and kindness in life will always take you much farther.

“I’ve learned over the years that you get a lot further with Aloha and being nice and creating wonderful relationships with people, than being this tough bully punk kid, you not going to get anywhere you might be in jail or you might be dead.  Love and respect will get you a lot farther than you know bullying and trying to be thuggish.”

-Makua Rothman

CHILD featuring Keoni “Painkillers” Payton

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 11.26.20 PMI apologize it’s been a while since I’ve been active here, as I’ve been really busy with school and have not found any suitable material to post. However I stumbled across this rags-to-riches documentary and must share it.

Keoni “Painkillers” Payton is the creator and talent behind the up and coming brand Farmers Market Hawaii / The Pineapple Clan.  The documentary shows his story from selling drugs, to being incarcerated, to his current success in creating one of the fastest growing street-wear company.  The brand has been well received in the islands, where some of their hats retail for $50 and resale for $200 to $1,200.  Recently they have branched out to the 9th island, Las Vegas and have a shop there too.  This documentary is inspirational and well put together, definitely check it out.

Insane 90ft Cliff Jump – Rainbow Falls, Hawaii

This kid is crazy. I thought I was bad-ass by jumping off Spitting Caves, a jump high enough that one can formulate entire thoughts in the air. However this kid takes the cake, in fact it’s amazing that he actually survived such a plunge.

I do not recommend doing this as this is extremely dangerous.

Check out his other videos too, they’re well edited and just as crazy.

Who is JOB 4.0 : Tubing & Shorebreak Madness – Ep 2

The reason for posting this video is solely to display mother nature’s beauty in a late winter phenomenon that occasionally happens at Pipeline. During the winter months big waves bring pro surfers and spectators to the North Shore of Oahu. On the strip of beach at Pipeline sometimes a pond builds up, locally named Beaver Creek. This occurs when the swell direction changes as the sand builds up to first form a cove and later becoming a pond. Skip to 4:20 to see the naturally forming beach pond, and watch Jamie O’Brien and friends build a ramp to launch into it.

“Waterfalling” – Scott Watson Development’s $26.5m mansion

This property located on the Big Island’s Hamakua Coast has it all: a helicopter pad, elevator wrapped in Louis Vuitton leather, 450 seat tennis stadium, nine-tee golf course, and more. However what really separates this mansion from the rest, is it’s location. Perched alongside a waterfall on a cliff overlooking the Pacific, it’s like putting Frank Lloyd Right’s “Falling Waters” on the Cliffs of Moher.
Recently “Waterfalling” was sold through an auction for an undisclosed amount. Learn more about it and take a tour of “Waterfalling” in this video by Concierge Auctions.
